Flink UI, made simple
A production-grade Flink UI and management console for Apache Flink — run Flink SQL, deploy and monitor jobs, scale task managers, and enforce role-based access control from one place.
Your cluster's new Flink UI
Flink Manager is a self-hosted control plane for Apache Flink: one console to operate and govern the Flink clusters you already run. Create and run Flink SQL, deploy and monitor Flink jobs, and keep an eye on cluster health — with schedulers, retention rules, and role-based access control built in.
Everything a Flink GUI needs
Real-Time Monitoring
Track job performance, throughput, and latency with live dashboards and intelligent alerting.
One-Click Deploy
Deploy Flink clusters across any environment with a single click — on-prem, cloud, or hybrid.
Auto-Scaling
Dynamically scale task managers based on workload, ensuring optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
Enterprise Security
Role-based access control, TLS encryption, and audit logging to meet your compliance requirements.
Version Management
Seamlessly upgrade Flink versions across clusters with zero downtime and rollback capabilities.
Advanced Analytics
Deep insights into job graphs, checkpointing, and backpressure with historical trend analysis.
The built-in Apache Flink Web UI
Apache Flink ships with its own web dashboard — usually just called the Flink Web UI. It is served by the JobManager on port 8081 and gives you a read-only view of a single cluster: active JobManagers, TaskManagers, and task slots; running, completed, and failed jobs; execution plans with operator chains; checkpointing statistics; backpressure, busyness, and data-skew metrics; task logs and exception traces; and job submission by uploading JAR files.
Key features of the built-in Flink Web UI
- Cluster overview: JobManagers, TaskManagers, task slots
- Job monitoring: running, completed, failed, and stopped streaming and batch jobs
- Job graphs and metrics: execution plans, operator chains, checkpoint statistics
- Subtask metrics: backpressure, busyness, and data skew
- Job submission: upload JARs, set savepoints, submit or cancel jobs
- Task logs and exception traces
How to access the Flink Web UI
- Local cluster: run
./bin/start-cluster.shand openhttp://localhost:8081 - Docker: publish and map the JobManager web UI port (8081)
- Kubernetes: expose the JobManager through an Ingress or the Flink Kubernetes Operator
The built-in dashboard is a great starting point — and it is read-only and single-cluster. When you need to run Flink SQL, deploy and restart jobs, scale task managers, enforce role-based access control, or manage several clusters at once, you need a management console. Flink Manager is a production-grade Flink UI that extends the built-in dashboard with everything operations requires — for one cluster or many.
Flink UI options at a glance
| Option | License | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Built-in Apache Flink Web UI | Open source (ships with Flink) | Single-cluster monitoring: jobs, task managers, checkpoints, backpressure, and logs. | Read-only for most operations — no multi-cluster view, no RBAC, no SQL workbench. |
| Flink SQL Client / SQL Gateway | Open source (ships with Flink) | Running Flink SQL against a cluster from the terminal or REST. | Not a visual interface — no browser UI, no monitoring. |
| Grafana / Prometheus dashboards | Open source | Infrastructure and metrics monitoring when Flink runs on Kubernetes. | Metrics only — no job management, SQL, or access control. |
| Flink Manager by Vinteros Labs | Commercial (free trial) | A complete Flink UI: Flink SQL workbench, job deployment and monitoring, auto-scaling, RBAC, schedulers, retention rules, alerting, and an audit trail. | Licensed for production use — free trial, no credit card required. |

Frequently asked questions about Flink UI
- A Flink UI is a graphical interface for Apache Flink clusters. Instead of driving the JobManager REST API with curl or CLI tools, you manage clusters, jobs, and SQL through a web console. Flink ships with a minimal built-in dashboard — Flink UI by Vinteros Labs is a production-grade management console built around it.
- Start a local Flink cluster with ./bin/start-cluster.sh and open http://localhost:8081 in your browser — 8081 is the JobManager's default web UI port. When Flink runs in Docker, publish and map the JobManager port; on Kubernetes, expose it through an Ingress or the Flink Kubernetes Operator.
- The built-in Flink Web UI is a monitoring dashboard: it shows the cluster overview (JobManagers, TaskManagers, task slots), running and completed jobs, execution graphs, checkpoint statistics, backpressure and data-skew metrics, task logs, and job submission via uploaded JAR files. It is read-only for most operations and limited to a single cluster.
- Beyond the stock dashboard, teams use the Flink SQL Client and SQL Gateway for terminal-based SQL, open-source platforms such as Apache StreamPark and Dinky for job development and deployment, Grafana or Prometheus dashboards for infrastructure metrics, and production management consoles such as Flink Manager by Vinteros Labs, which adds multi-cluster management, a Flink SQL workbench, Apache Flink monitoring with alerting, role-based access control, schedulers, and retention rules.
- Request a free trial license from the Flink Manager license page, then connect Flink UI to one or many JobManager endpoints. Deployment takes minutes and requires no account or credit card.
- Yes. Apache Flink ships its own open-source web dashboard, and community projects cover job submission and SQL authoring. Flink UI adds production capabilities on top: role-based access control, schedulers, retention rules, and alerting.
- Yes. Flink UI ships a SQL workbench that executes Flink SQL directly against your cluster and tracks the resulting jobs in the monitoring view.
